Cyprus College of Art

The College was founded in 1969 by the distinguished Cypriot painter Stass Paraskos. Stass died in March 2014, but his vision lives on as a space for professional artists, art students and art lovers to come together, share studio spaces and enjoy the simple act of making art. At the heart of the village of Lemba a large sculpture wall was created by Stass and fellow artists; it began in the 1980s and sculptors continue to add to it today, known locally as the Great Wall of Lemba.

Now continued by the artist Director Margaret Paraskos who has been working at the CCA since 1983 and artist/architect Co-Director Emilio Koutsoftides who joined in 2009.

Emilio and Margaret both continue the ethos of the College “a space made by artists for artists” under a mentorship programme of artists from all over the world coming together to work alongside each other with group crits and a focus on studio practice. The work is exhibited both locally and internationally.

The College continues to host artists and groups from world renowned art institutions such as the Royal College of Art, Slade School of Art, Central Saint Martins, Turps School of Art, Falmouth University, Goldsmiths University, Brno University, Paris School of Architecture and more.
