Panicos Spanos was born in 1976 in Limassol. From his early teens, Panicos was drawn to metal as a medium of creative expression. Under the instruction of the prolific Cypriot artist Pambos Michlis, Panicos’s passion for art and sculpting grew, and led to his current profession as a metal sculptor.

His large-scale sculptures never cease to amaze, not only for their dimensions but also for their modern aesthetic. Panicos explores the human body by creating figures in motion, as well as individual limbs and heads.  His signature is his virtuosic interplay between the inherent heaviness of metal as a material, and the sensitivity that his sculptures project. His most recent work revolves around the themes of time and space, using futuristic and technological elements.

Panicos’s works are in numerous private collections in Cyprus and abroad, while his public sculptures can be found in Ayia Napa Sculpture Park, the Limassol Nautical Club, the park in Kalavasos, and the Ayia Napa promenade, to name a few. He has participated in a number of exhibitions such as  “Proud Collector”, The Grand Hotel, Berlin, Germany (2014, 2015); RODI Event Venue, Limassol, Cyprus (2015); Bluchip Gallery, Larnaca, Cyprus (2019, 2021); Morfi Gallery, Limassol, Cyprus (September 2022).
