Opsis

Opsis was born in 1985 in Limassol. He studied product design in France and the UK, and works in the arts mainly as a painter and illustrator. Opsis  often draws inspiration from found objects, and occasionally works on murals in public and abandoned spaces.

Opsis  has always been attracted to boat yards, ports, containers, cranes, car yards, and other places that give a sense of stillness and decay. His art studio is located in one of the last industrial areas of the town centre, where all the woodshops, mechanics and soft industries used to be. His projects draw inspiration from his immediate surroundings such as stacked cars in mechanics, and traditional workshops. His more recent work includes photographs and video stills of car yards, which complement his paintings and studio work.
